Where Constructionism is a Way of Life!

Barack Obama, a racist? It would seem so!

We, the American public found out from Oprah Winfrey that Barack Obama’s home church is Trinity United Church of Christ.

And on Trinity United Church of Christ’s “About Us” page on their web site we read:

We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian… Our roots in the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain “true to our native land,” the mother continent, the cradle of civilization. God has superintended our pilgrimage through the days of slavery, the days of segregation, and the long night of racism. It is God who gives us the strength and courage to continuously address injustice as a people, and as a congregation. We constantly affirm our trust in God through cultural expression of a Black worship service and ministries which address the Black Community.

The Pastor as well as the membership of Trinity United Church of Christ is committed to a 10-point Vision:

  1. A congregation committed to ADORATION.
  2. A congregation preaching SALVATION.
  3. A congregation actively seeking RECONCILIATION.
  4. A congregation with a non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA.
  5. A congregation committed to BIBLICAL EDUCATION.
  6. A congregation committed to CULTURAL EDUCATION.
  7. A congregation committed to the HISTORICAL EDUCATION OF AFRICAN PEOPLE IN DIASPORA.
  8. A congregation committed to LIBERATION.
  9. A congregation committed to RESTORATION.
  10. A congregation working towards ECONOMIC PARITY.

And then I checked out their Mission Statement:

Mission Statement: What Trinity Is About

Trinity United Church of Christ has been called by God to be a congregation that is not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ and that does not apologize for its African roots! As a congregation of baptized believers, we are called to be agents of liberation not only for the oppressed, but for all of God’s family. We, as a church family, acknowledge, that we will, building on this affirmation of “who we are” and “whose we are,” call men, women, boys and girls to the liberating love of Jesus Christ, inviting them to become a part of the church universal, responding to Jesus’ command that we go into all the world and make disciples!

We are called out to be “a chosen people” that pays no attention to socio-economic or educational backgrounds. We are made up of the highly educated and the uneducated. Our congregation is a combination of the haves and the have-nots; the economically disadvantaged, the under-class, the unemployed and the employable.

The fortunate who are among us combine forces with the less fortunate to become agents of change for God who is not pleased with America’s economic mal-distribution!

W.E.B. DuBois indicated that the problem in the 20th century was going to be the problem of the color line. He was absolutely correct. Our job as servants of God is to address that problem and eradicate it in the name of Him who came for the whole world by calling all men, women, boys and girls to Christ.

Well from what all I’ve read this church seems more like an activist group rather than a congregation of true Christians.

So I decided to check out the home page for the denomination of Trinity United Church of Christ, the “United Church of Christ“. I first went to the United Church of Christ homepage and found their Statement of Faith, and after a lot of reading because their wording on their Statement of Faith reads like it was written by a lawyer, I have found out that this denomination as a whole is not an Orthodox Christian church, and they even go as far as teaching things that are contradictory to God’s very own Word.

Well anyway, back to Barack Obama and the church he is a member of.

Above where I posted his church’s statement on “About Us” I have some comments, where it states

1. A congregation committed to ADORATION.
(Adoration to what?)
2. A congregation preaching SALVATION.
(Salvation from what?)
3. A congregation actively seeking RECONCILIATION.
(Reconciliation to whom or what?)
4. A congregation with a non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA.
(Commitment to Africa??? I thought Christians were to have an commitment to God alone???)
5. A congregation committed to BIBLICAL EDUCATION.
(First thing I found that sounds right, but if they moved this one “number 5.” to “number 1.” in priority, then the other nine should fall into place.)
6. A congregation committed to CULTURAL EDUCATION.
(Or is that the “Cultural Gospel” which is not Gospel at all?)
7. A congregation committed to the HISTORICAL EDUCATION OF AFRICAN PEOPLE IN DIASPORA.
(Is this not what schools are for? How does this line up with God’s Word?)
8. A congregation committed to LIBERATION.
(Liberation from whom or what?)
9. A congregation committed to RESTORATION.
(Restoration from whom or what?)
10. A congregation working towards ECONOMIC PARITY.
(Economic parity??? Does that sound a lot like communism???)

First off just by this ten point layout describing Barack Obama’s church, we see that on some issues they are not clear even though is sounds good to the reader it still leaves one guessing and and not knowing where they truly stand as a congregation.

Second, the church seems to place Africa and African People before God, and says nothing about other races in their community or a commitment to help the people in their community.

Third, the church seems to promote communism by the term they use called “economic parity”.

Is this what Barack Obama truly believes? Well he is a member of the Democrat Party, the very party that is trying to push socialized medicine on our country (which in every country where socialized medicine has been tried it was a complete failure). The very Party that tries to tax the rich out of being productive and providing jobs so the Democrats can “provide” to the ones who are lazy “welfare benefits” in a never ending cycle (“economic parity” aka “even distribution of wealth”) totally hurting our economy in the name of votes and power. The very Party that says that they want equality for all races, but denies other races (even their own) they very thing they promise the people who vote for them.

Then you have the whole page on from the pastor of Barack Obama’s church that goes on about “Black Value System” and the “systematized liberation theology” of “Black Power and Black Theology” that all boils down to their “Black liberation theology“, of which no true Christian believes in any kind liberation theology at all.

So this is all for one race of people and none of the others? So the Gospel is replaced by political activism in the name of Christianity? And this is what Barack Obama subscribes to as his belief due to his membership in the Trinity United Church of Christ?

I’d say yes.

Then we read in the church’s mission statement (above) that they are not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ but go on to say that they do not apologize for their African roots!
The True Church does not care about anyone’s roots, African or otherwise. We are all one in Christ and color blind.

And the statement goes on to say that they are not pleased with America’s “economic mal-distribution”. Yet another statement for communism.

And in the last paragraph of the mission statement their church goes on to say that W.E.B. DuBois’ statement that “the problem in the 20th century was going to be the problem of the color line” is true, but we are now in the 21st century and we need to look forward because we have overcome the color line, but many today still take advantage of the color line just for self gain.
